Murphy & Bailey is a luxury pet boutique on the Belmont Road in East Belfast that launched during lockdown.

It’s founded by Jude and Karen — two dog-loving, high-flying corporates who met while walking their dogs Murphy and Bailey at the local park.

In today’s episode, hear why they traded established careers for the start-up life, what it was like starting a business during the pandemic and the role pets have played in getting our city through these tough times.

Check it out.

  • One thing most people don't know about you:

Karen - I have an unhealthy obsession with reality shows set in Australia ...currently Married at First Sight Australia but also partial to My Kitchen Rules and Biggest Loser

Jude - I cried the whole way through a flight to Italy as I was freaking out so much about my first solo trip....

I was 41.... Now I love heading off on my own in my campervan with the doggos (everybody knows that last bit though!)

  • Favourite Book:

Karen - Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts, and I love the simple wisdom of Pooh Bear (A.A Milne)

Jude and Karen - Ashamed to say I’ve lost the habit of reading... so it’s probably something by Enid Blyton

  • Favourite Quote:

Karen - Life is a journey to be experienced not a problem to be solved (Winnie)

Jude and Karen - “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light” - Albus Dumbledore
