Meet Colin Williams…

Colin Williams is the BAFTA-winning children’s television creator, showrunner and writer behind Sixteen South — a production company that has produced 450+ episodes for networks like Disney Junior, CBeebies, Nick Jr, Hulu, PBS Kids and much, much more.

Colin & company have picked up over 50 international awards including two EMMY® nominations, a British Animation Award, the coveted Prix Jeunesse and a BAFTA for the Best Independent Production Company.

Some Sixteen South shows include:

  • Lily’s Driftwood Bay

  • WildWoods

  • Claude

  • Big City Park

  • Pinkalicious and Peterrific

  • And a new series that will be distributed exclusively on YouTube (more about that later).

In today’s show, we talk about how Colin Williams set up a children’s television production company in Northern Ireland, how to write about death for kids TV and a personal mantra that’s kept him going through the challenging times.

Colin is an absolute legend and Sixteen South has got to be one of Northern Ireland’s best-kept secrets. I really enjoyed finding out more about his story, and I know you will too.

So, without further adieu, let’s go.
